Okay, I Just Had One of Those Ridiculous Coincidences

I used to dabble in Photoshop contests. I also used to frequent a Cubs blog called Hire Jim Essian. In fact, before I built up the nerve to submit Photoshops to Fark, I got my feet wet on HJE.

Today, for no reason except that I noticed the site in my bookmarks, I visited HJE. And for the hell of it, I thought I’d revisit my old Photoshop submissions.

At some point in the 2008 season, the guy who runs HJE got a cease and desist from WGN, telling them to stop using their logo. His challenge to his readers that week was to design a new WGN logo he could use.

I submitted this:…back on June 13, 2008.

Tonight as I looked at that thread for the first time in over two years, I got to the bottom and noticed that someone had replied:I didn’t remember ever seeing that reply, so I glanced at when it was left there.

Today.

Two and a quarter years later, and I happened to look at the thread the day the comment was left.

Oh yeah. I posted under the nickname "Brick." Named after a character in a play I wrote nine years ago.
